Photographer Jordan Sullivan discusses his Death Valley series, and why he keeps returning to the desert.
I knew I wanted to create photographs that would create sensory experiences. I wanted to depict this desert, that's been photographed so much, in a different way - in an emotional and personal way.
About the Artist
Jordan Sullivan (b. 1983) is a photographer and mixed media artist. His photographs of the natural world offer strange yet familiar visions of deserts, gardens and oceans that are manipulated through digital and analog interventions. While Sullivan’s photographs are emotionally charged with personal significance, his pictures offer viewers an open space for their own introspection.
