Multicolor modernism in Maine
Tucked away in coastal Maine, Pieces Home colorfully blends beach house with showroom. The team behind An Aesthetic Pursuit, a Brooklyn-based creative agency, renovated a historic home to bring art and design together under one roof. The two-story home acts as an incubator for new concepts from Pieces, like the U-shaped rainbow rug that weaves together the dining and living spaces, and a stage for emerging art from Uprise Art artists, such as Ashely Peifer, Kimmy Quillin, and more. I have always been fascinated with the beginning of the story... the genesis, the why. The forms in my work are inspired by essential elements that become different things.

I work intuitively while letting my mind wander, creating compositions that are multi-layered and textured. Each painting reveals itself as I work and, when finished, is a crystallization of its own esoteric processes–a new visual universe.
Ashely Peifer
I love geometric shapes and return to arcs, circles and lines consistently in my work. As seen in the work of Sol LeWitt, a graceful arc or line conveys so much.
Kimmy Quillin
I want the shapes that I'm creating to feel very fluid and spontaneous, when in fact they are methodically planned out and painstakingly crafted.
Dan Covert
I often feel overwhelmed by the idea of infinite solutions and usually try to work within some self-imposed limitation, like a specific size or source of reference.
