Hayley’s work is deeply rooted in the act of noticing and reinterpreting the familiar, and her palette reflects the colors she observes throughout West Palm Beach, where she is based. Her woven screens transform everyday landscapes into vivid visual representations that resonate with both memory and metaphor.

My pieces explore the use of negative space and symmetry to create a quilted or pieced look within a composition and recalls memories of cross-stitch quilts made by my Great Grandmother and the duality of the vibrant but intense nature of summers spent in Florida.

By capturing the essence of her surroundings with a delicate balance of color and texture, Hayley guides viewers to experience a heightened sense of awareness and connection to their own environments.

In these compositions I am interested in pulling together vertical columns of similar visually weighted shapes and the sense of stability they give, while paring them with seemingly random jolts of buoyant color.
