Founded by and designed for women, Modern Citizen takes a thoughtful approach to fashion and home goods. From one woman-led small business to another, we curated artwork for their New York store with original pieces by Nicole Anastas, Arlina Cai, and IN.SEK (Ashira Israel) that celebrate female creativity and entrepreneurship.

We love both Nicole and Ashira's perspectives as multidisciplinary creators, coming from the worlds of fashion and architecture in addition to art — reminiscent of our own approach to design. Our aesthetic draws inspiration from a wide range of influences both within and beyond the fashion world, meeting sensibly where real life and artful design intersect.

Arlina’s work 'Start of Spring' brings such a soothing palette to the space, coincidentally highlighting some of the softer core colors we chose for our interiors; but also a contrast to some of the more modern materials like the matte metals.
