Damien on "Two Thousand Seventeen (Portrait of Future Felix)"
Multimedia artist Damien Davis led one of the Whitney Museum's Study Sessions in February. The ongoing event series was originally inspired by Fred Moten and Stefano Harney's notion of study as "what you do with other people", and for each Study Session a work on view in the Whitney's permanent collection is selected as a departure point for discussion. Damien's choice of Felix Gonzalez-Torres inspired a 99-component participatory installation that visitors were invited to rearrange.
